In July 1992, Scot Forge was the first North American Open
Die Forge Company to be awarded certification to ISO 9001
and recently obtained SAE AS9100 C. Scot Forge has maintained
certification since that time through strict adherence to
their Quality Policies and Quality System and is now certified
to ISO 9001:2008
and SAE AS 9100:2009.
Our specialty plant Ringmasters'
is also certified to ISO
9001:2008. This is complemented by specific certification
within the shipbuilding industry by ABS,
DNV and Lloyds.
Additionally, Scot Forge and Ringmasters has also been recognized
and certified as being compliant to the requirements of the
European Pressure Equipment Directive (SF-PED),
(RM-PED).
The formal Scot Forge Quality Policy
states: Scot Forge Management and the Quality Control Personnel,
comprised of all employee-owners, are dedicated to achieving
the goal of Total Customer Satisfaction by safely supplying
the highest quality forgings and services possible at the
earliest opportune time.
Scot Forge has aggressively adopted
a company-wide Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) Plan
to be used as a vehicle to achieve this goal. A philosophy
of Scot Forge management is to improve every aspect of Scot
Forge through employee-owner involvement.
Another management philosophy is
that quality improvement is not an assignment, but rather,
is a daily personal priority and obligation of every Scot
Forge employee-owner.
Scot Forge employee-owners understand that The Plan is a
way to encourage complete participatory management, giving
employee-owners the opportunity to assert themselves actively
toward the common goal of Total Quality and Customer Satisfaction.
An easy way to highlight the main points of the policy is through the acronym "SCOT": Safety… Continuous
Improvement… On-Time Delivery… Total
Customer Satisfaction.
Posters of this "informal" quality policy are located throughout the plants and
office. They serve as a constant reminder to all employee-owners of Scot Forge's
quality policy and its importance.
