Wind Power

Whether you are farming wind on land or have an off-shore wind project, we forge American-made components from US materials. Including the essential parts in the nacelle (gearbox, high-speed shaft, low-speed shaft and brake), the yaw drive for upwind turbines (shaft and gear) and tower components for both downwind and upwind turbines.

Biomass Power

Converting biomass to energy is done through various processes such as direct combustion, thermochemical, chemical and biological conversion – to create solid, gaseous and liquid fuels. The need for components to withstand high heat, pressure and caustic environments during these processes makes forgings an ideal choice for biomass power production. At Scot Forge, we have experience manufacturing forgings for kiln components, much like those used in the pyrolysis process and reactor components, like those needed for the hydrotreating process, to produce bio-oil, biodiesel, renewable gas and renewable jet fuel.

Geothermal Power

Many forgings like rings, discs and shafts are ideal for components such as blades, wheels and driveshafts for both turbines and generators.

Solar Energy

Solar energy is critical to the energy mix with a couple of energy harvesting methods. First, by exciting electrons, using panels allows for the collection and transfer of energy. Another technique uses heliostats to reflect the sun's rays and use thermal processes to heat water or salt and transfer energy. Solar energy harvesting employs turbines, and solar panels frequently require gearing in the manufacturing process, which are great applications for forgings.
